Description
A decadent twist on classic macaroni and cheese with lobster and prawns, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz macaroni pasta
- 1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped
- 1 cup cooked prawns, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Make the cheese sauce: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder, cooking for about 1 minute until it resembles a paste. Gradually whisk in the milk, bringing it to a simmer. Continue whisking until the sauce is thickened.
- Stir in the cheeses: Add the cheddar and mozzarella, stirring until completely melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine pasta and seafood: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, lobster, and prawns, then pour the cheese sauce over the top. Gently mix until everything is well-coated.
- Transfer to a baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Optionally, top with additional cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden and bubbly on top.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
