Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, for greasing the baking dish
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prep a baking dish by coating it with butter.
  3. Layer half of your sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.
  4. Mix the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and half of each cheese in a mixing bowl.
  5. Assemble by pouring half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes. Repeat the layering process.
  6. Top with the remaining cheeses.
  7. Bake for about 50-60 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
