  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a skillet, melt some butter over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms until soft. Stir in the garlic, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper. Add the shredded chicken and cream cheese to the skillet, mixing well until combined and heated through.
  2. Roll Out the Pastry: On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets. Cut them into squares, ensuring each square is large enough to fold over the filling comfortably.
  3. Fill Your Pillows: Spoon a generous amount of the chicken and mushroom mixture onto one half of each pastry square. Fold the other half over, pressing the edges together to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges or simply press them down.
  4. Egg Wash: Brush the tops with beaten egg for that beautiful golden finish.
  5. Bake: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the pillows for 20-25 minutes, or until they’re golden and puffed up.
  6. Make the Gravy: While your pillows are baking, melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in the flour, cooking for about a minute. Gradually add the chicken broth, whisking constantly until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
