Description
A delicious and easy-to-make garlic butter steak and prawns dish that combines savory steak with sweet, succulent prawns, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
- 8 ounces of prawns, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prep the steak: Take your steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the steak and cook for about 4-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
- Add the garlic: In the last minute of cooking, add 2 cloves of minced garlic and a tablespoon of butter, basting the steak with the melted butter.
- Rest the steak: Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for at least 5 minutes.
- Cook the prawns: In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sauté for about 30 seconds, then add the prawns, cooking until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Combine and serve: Slice the steak against the grain, plate alongside the prawns, drizzle with garlic butter, garnish with parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Use an instant-read thermometer for precise steak doneness. Don’t overcook the prawns to avoid rubbery texture.
