Description

Delightful meatball mummies wrapped in flaky pastry for a spooky Halloween dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package of puff pastry sheets (thawed)
  • Black olives (for the eyes)
  • Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Form small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the meatballs for about 15-20 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
  5. Wrap the baked meatballs with thin strips of puff pastry, leaving space for eyes.
  6. Bake the wrapped meatballs for another 10-15 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
  7. Add sliced black olives on top of the mummies for eyes.
  8. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Involve kids in the preparation for added fun! Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
