Description

Heavenly Cinnamon Pecan Rugelach is the perfect recipe for indulgent snacking. Quick, easy, and delicious, this dish will become your go-to treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • A sprinkle of love (optional but highly recommended!)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the flour and powdered sugar, mixing until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill it in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
  2. Make the Filling: While your dough chills, combine the chopped pecans, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  3. Roll Out the Dough: Once chilled, divide the dough into four equal parts. Roll each piece out on a lightly floured surface into a circle about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Add the Filling: Spread a thin layer of the pecan mixture onto each circle, leaving a little space along the edges. Cut the circle into wedges.
  5. Roll Them Up: Starting from the wide end of each wedge, roll them up tightly toward the point. Place each rugelach on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it over the top of each rolled rugelach.
  7. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  8. Cool and Enjoy: Let them cool slightly before digging in.

Notes

Chill your dough for best results. These rugelach are best served warm but store well in an airtight container for a few days.
