Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sweetened cream cheese (or your favorite filling)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine the water, butter, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a rolling boil. Turn off the heat and stir in the flour until smooth.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then gradually beat in the eggs until the dough is smooth and glossy.
  4. Pipe small mounds of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until puffed and golden.
  6. Cool on a wire rack before filling each puff with sweetened cream cheese.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Let the dough cool slightly before adding eggs to prevent scrambling. Avoid opening the oven while baking.
