  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • Burger buns
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • A sprinkle of sugar (optional for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onions by heating olive oil over medium heat, adding sliced onions, and cooking until they soften and caramelize (10-15 minutes).
  2. Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and optional sugar. Cook until golden brown and syrupy (5-10 minutes), then set aside.
  3. Prepare the turkey patties by combining ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Form into four equal patties.
  4. Cook the patties in the same skillet over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes per side, or until reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Add a slice of provolone to each patty a minute before they’re done, covering the skillet to melt the cheese.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing patties on buns and topping with balsamic caramelized onions and any desired garnish.
