Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Burger buns
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- Salt, to taste
- A sprinkle of sugar (optional for extra sweetness)
Instructions
- Sauté the onions by heating olive oil over medium heat, adding sliced onions, and cooking until they soften and caramelize (10-15 minutes).
- Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and optional sugar. Cook until golden brown and syrupy (5-10 minutes), then set aside.
- Prepare the turkey patties by combining ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Form into four equal patties.
- Cook the patties in the same skillet over medium-high heat for 5-6 minutes per side, or until reaching an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Add a slice of provolone to each patty a minute before they’re done, covering the skillet to melt the cheese.
- Assemble the burgers by placing patties on buns and topping with balsamic caramelized onions and any desired garnish.
Notes
Using the same skillet for onions and burgers layers in flavor. Choose good quality buns for the best burger experience. Leftover patties can be stored for up to 3 days.
