  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries (drained and patted dry)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together in a large bowl until creamy. Add the vanilla and eggs, mixing well.
  4. Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and maraschino cherries gently.
  6. Drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, then bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  7. Cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a flavor boost, add a sprinkle of almond extract. The dough can be frozen for up to three months.
