- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries (drained and patted dry)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together in a large bowl until creamy. Add the vanilla and eggs, mixing well.
- Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and maraschino cherries gently.
- Drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, then bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a flavor boost, add a sprinkle of almond extract. The dough can be frozen for up to three months.
