Description
Delicious Pan-Seared Grouper served with a creamy Coconut Miso Cilantro Sauce, perfect for dinner parties or weeknight meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 grouper fillets
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the grouper: Start by patting the grouper fillets dry with a paper towel. Season each fillet generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat the pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the grouper fillets, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for about 4-5 minutes each side or until golden brown.
- Make the sauce: While the fish cooks, combine the coconut milk, miso paste, and lime juice in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the miso is fully dissolved and the sauce is warm.
- Finish it off: Once the grouper is cooked through, place each fillet on a plate, drizzle the coconut miso sauce over the top, and garnish with cilantro and a squeeze of lime.
Notes
For a spicy sauce, add chili paste or diced red pepper. This sauce works well with snapper or mahi-mahi too.
