Description
A quick and delicious pan-seared grouper recipe paired with a creamy lemon sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 grouper fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the fish: Start by seasoning your grouper fillets with salt and pepper on both sides. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Heat the pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the grouper fillets. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until they develop a lovely golden crust.
- Flip to cook: Gently flip the fillets and add the butter and minced garlic to the pan. Spoon some of the melting butter over the fish to keep it moist.
- Prepare the creamy sauce: Remove the fillets once cooked through. In the same pan, pour in the heavy cream along with the lemon juice and zest. Let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
- Serve it up: Return the grouper to the pan, let it soak in the sauce for a minute before serving, and top it off with fresh parsley.
Notes
Grouper can be replaced with other white fish like snapper or cod. You can prep ingredients in advance for easier cooking.
