Description

Crispy golden Brussels sprouts paired with a tangy mustard cream and crumbled bacon, perfect as a snack or side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2 tbsp bacon fat from cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pot over high heat.
  2. Carefully lower the trimmed Brussels sprouts into the hot oil.
  3. Fry the sprouts for about five minutes until golden brown.
  4. Remove them onto paper towels and sprinkle with salt.
  5. Mix a vinaigrette by whisking together mustard, vinegar, honey, and bacon fat in a bowl.
  6. Toss the hot Brussels sprouts with the vinaigrette and crumbled bacon.

Notes

For best results, do not leave the frying Brussels sprouts unattended as they can burn quickly.
