3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Italian Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 24 oz. jar of marinara sauce You can use homemade if preferred.
  • 1 oz. packet of Italian seasoning Or make your own blend.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Lightly season the chicken breasts with a pinch of salt and pepper, if desired. Optionally, sear the chicken in a hot pan for a few minutes on each side.
Cooking
  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken, making sure each piece is well coated.
  3. Cover the slow cooker. Set on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, shred the chicken in the slow cooker using two forks.
  2. Stir everything together to combine the flavors and serve.

Notes

Add sliced bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition. Stir in cream cheese or Parmesan for a creamy variation. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
