Ingredients

For the dough
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it’s frothy and bubbly.
  2. Stir in the melted butter and salt, then gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 3-4 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape them into round balls. Place these in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Cover the dish with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once the rolls have risen, bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Once out of the oven, brush with a little melted butter and serve warm.

Notes

Ensure your yeast is fresh for best results. Use cozy spots for faster rising. Add garlic powder, herbs, or cheese for extra flavor.
