Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar until it’s light and fluffy—this takes about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Gently fold in the chopped apples and pecans.
- Pour the batter into your prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. If desired, dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
