Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Whisk until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually fold this mixture into your wet ingredients until just combined. If desired, add nuts or raisins.
- Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and pour the batter in, smoothing the top.
Baking
- Bake for about 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
