Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (about 80/20 for the best flavor)
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, chopped more bacon is always better!
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • to taste ketchup, for topping optional, but highly recommended for that burger vibe!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, eggs, finely chopped onion, cheddar cheese, cooked bacon, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
Cooking
  1. Transfer your meat mixture into the prepared baking dish or loaf pan, gently shaping it into a loaf.
  2. Bake for about 50-60 minutes until the inside reaches 160°F (70°C) and the top is golden and crispy. Drizzle ketchup on top during the last 10 minutes of baking if desired.
  3. Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
  4. Serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Feel free to substitute other cheeses like Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack for a kick. Leftover bacon from breakfast can also be used. To sneak in veggies, consider adding finely chopped bell pepper or mushrooms. If the meatloaf cracks, cover it with extra ketchup or cheese.
