  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed) Roll out on a floured surface.
  • 1/4 cup fig jam Can substitute with other jam if desired.
  • 4-6 slices prosciutto Salty flavor complements the sweetness of figs.
  • 2 tablespoons honey For drizzling on top before serving.
  • 1 egg for egg wash Will give a golden finish.
  • to taste Fresh thyme or rosemary Optional, for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Place the brie in the center of the puff pastry and generously spread fig jam on top.
  4. Lay the prosciutto slices over the cheese artfully.
  5. Fold the puff pastry around the brie, sealing the edges. Twist corners into bundles or crimp with a fork.
  6. Beat the egg and brush it over the pastry.
  7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes, then drizzle honey on top and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

If the pastry tears, patch it up; it won't affect the final product. Feel free to replace figs with seasonal fruits. Serve warm with crackers or sliced baguette.
