Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel.
- Rub olive oil all over the chicken breasts.
- Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- If using, squeeze lemon juice over the chicken and add cheese and vegetables as desired.
Cooking
- Place chicken breasts in a baking dish, and bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Allow the chicken to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to ensure juices redistribute.
Notes
Cover with foil for the first half of baking to prevent drying out. Broil for one minute at the end for extra crispness if desired.
