Preparation
- Combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Place your flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal it tight and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
Grilling
- Preheat your grill to medium-high. If using charcoal, light it up to get the coals nice and hot.
- Remove the flank steak from the marinade and shake off the excess.
- Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.
- Once grilled, take it off the heat and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Slice the steak thinly against the grain.
Assembly
- On a platter, arrange the sliced steak, then top it off with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella slices, and fresh basil leaves.
- Drizzle some balsamic glaze on top before serving.
Notes
If you don’t have a grill, use a grill pan on the stovetop. Marinating overnight will enhance the flavor.
