  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tbsp balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by hulling the strawberries and slicing them. Slice the fresh mozzarella into pieces about the same thickness as the strawberries.
Assembly
  1. On a large serving plate, alternate layers of strawberries and mozzarella slices in a creative arrangement.
Adding Basil and Dressing
  1. Tuck fresh basil leaves between the layers or sprinkle on top. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the arrangement and add olive oil, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
Serve
  1. Serve immediately to showcase the dish beautifully.

Notes

If prepping ahead, slice everything but the mozzarella and basil to keep them fresh. You can also substitute strawberries with peaches or berries for a seasonal twist. For a fancy presentation, serve on a wooden board and let guests assemble their own.
