Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 racks racks of beef ribs (about 4-5 pounds) Choose high-quality beef ribs for best flavor.
  • 1 cup favorite BBQ sauce Store-bought or homemade BBQ sauce.
Rub Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Adds sweetness to balance the savory.
  • 2 tablespoons salt Enhances overall flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper For a bit of heat.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder Balances flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Brings a smoky flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional for added heat.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven or Grill: If you're using the oven, preheat it to 300°F (150°C). For grillers, set your grill to a low, indirect heat.
  2. Prepare the Ribs: Rinse your beef ribs under cold water, pat them dry, and remove any silver skin for a more tender bite.
  3. Mix the Rub: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Season the Ribs: Generously coat your ribs with the spice rub, ensuring every nook and cranny is covered.
Cooking
  1. Cooking Time: Place the ribs on a baking sheet (if using the oven) or on the cooler side of the grill. Cover with aluminum foil and bake or grill for 2-3 hours.
  2. Glaze on the BBQ Sauce: About 30 minutes before they're done, remove the foil and brush on your favorite BBQ sauce. Let it caramelize into the meat.
  3. Finish with a Sizzle: Replace the foil and let the ribs cook for another 15-20 minutes or finish on the grill for a charred perfection.
  4. Slice and Serve: Once the meat is tender and the sauce bubbly, let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with extra sauce on the side.

Notes

For more tenderness, allow ribs to cook longer (within reason). Personalize your BBQ sauce by adding honey, chili powder, or fresh herbs.
