Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 cups cubed day-old bread White or brioche works wonderfully
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk Or a mix of milk and cream for extra richness
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon For warm flavor
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup raisins or chopped nuts Optional for texture boost

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and gently stir to ensure all bread is soaked.
  5. Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes to absorb the custard.
Baking
  1. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving, and consider drizzling with caramel sauce or whipped cream.

Notes

Feel free to customize the pudding with chocolate chips or fresh fruits. Stale bread is preferable for better texture. Embrace a rustic presentation!
