Method
Baking the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine your chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a prepared 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Adding the Toppings
- Once the cake is out of the oven and cooled slightly, poke holes all over the cake using a fork.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
- Drizzle caramel sauce on top.
- Chill the cake in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
- Spread whipped topping over the cooled cake and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or pieces.

Notes
Make it a day ahead for better flavor. You can swap the cake mix for other flavors. Store leftovers tightly in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
