Crust and Base
  • 1 piece pre-made pie crust Store-bought for convenience.
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh broccoli florets Or frozen if that's what you have.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to try other cheeses.
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk for creaminess or skim if you prefer.
  • 4 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. If using fresh broccoli, steam the florets for about 3-4 minutes until tender and vibrant green. If using frozen, simply thaw them.
Mixing Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Whisk until combined.
Assembling
  1. Place the pre-made pie crust in a pie dish. Layer the steamed broccoli and shredded cheddar in the base, then pour the egg mixture over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is slightly golden.
  2. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes
