Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain Sirloin or skirt steak can be used as well.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Helps tenderize the beef.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For frying.
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper Adjust to taste.
For the Vegetables
  • 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced Any color works!
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
For Serving
  • to taste Cooked rice or noodles Use for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.
Cooking
  1. In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the marinated beef to the sizzling oil, making sure to spread it out for even cooking. Stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until it's browned but not overcooked.
  3. Toss in the garlic, ginger, bell peppers, and broccoli, then sprinkle in the black pepper. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add in the green onions before serving. Serve the stir-fry over rice or noodles.

Notes

Beef can be substituted with chicken or tofu. Use any favorite vegetables or add red pepper flakes for spice. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
