- In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and coat both sides generously with the spice mixture.
Cooking
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until a blackened crust forms and the insides are tender.
Serving
- Plate the salmon fillets and squeeze lemon juice over the top. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Allow the skillet to heat adequately before adding salmon for a perfect sear. If flipping is difficult, let it cook fully on one side before turning.
