Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 large round brie cheese
  • 1 cup raspberry jam A hint of sweetness
  • cup crushed red pepper flakes For a little kick
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Store-bought for ease
  • 1 each egg, beaten For egg wash
Garnishes
  • to taste fresh raspberries Optional but recommended
  • to taste green onions Optional but recommended

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out your puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s large enough to wrap your brie.
  3. Place the brie in the center of the pastry and spread raspberry jam generously over the top.
  4. Sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes on top of the jam.
  5. Fold the pastry over the cheese, pinching the seams to seal it tight. Flip it over so the seam side is down and place it on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush the beaten egg over the top for a golden color.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.
  2. Let it cool for a minute after removing from the oven.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh raspberries and chopped green onions, if desired.
  2. Serve with crusty bread or crackers.

Notes

You can assemble the dish the night before and bake it right before serving. Chill the pastry if it becomes too warm while working with it. Feel free to experiment with different jams or toppings.
