  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk Can substitute with almond milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: raisins, chocolate chips, or nuts Add for extra flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss your bread cubes into a large mixing bowl and let them sit a bit.
Making the Custard
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Pour the custard over the bread cubes and gently fold until the bread is nicely coated.
  3. Add any optional ingredients like chocolate chips, raisins, or nuts.
Baking
  1. Let the mixture soak for about 15 minutes.
  2. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Let the bread pudding cool before serving.
  2. Serve warm with whipped cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.

Notes

Bread selection can vary; both fresh and stale bread work. Consider adding spices like nutmeg for a twist. To avoid overbaking, monitor the baking process closely.
