Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped apples Granny Smith apples recommended for tartness.
For the Cheesecake Layer
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure it's soft for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Caramel Sauce
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cups heavy cream Warm before adding to the sauce.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the whole milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually fold in the flour and baking powder until combined.
  6. Stir in the chopped apples and set aside.
Cheesecake Layer
  1. In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Assembly
  1. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Smooth it out, then gently spoon the cheesecake batter over the top.
  3. Add the remaining cake batter on top, covering the cheesecake layer.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool completely.
Caramel Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and a pinch of salt over medium heat.
  2. Stir continuously until the sugar melts.
  3. Once melted, slowly whisk in the heavy cream until smooth.
Serving
  1. Drizzle the homemade caramel sauce over the cooled cake.
  2. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to use different apple varieties or add nuts for extra flair. This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge.
