Preparation
- Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently form them into patties.
- Season each side of the patties with salt and pepper.
Cooking
- Place the patties in the preheated skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side.
- Flip the patties over and place the cheese slices on top. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
- While the cheese is melting, toast your slices of white bread until golden brown.
Assembly
- Once the cheese has melted, lower the heat and remove the patties from the skillet.
- Place each patty on a slice of toasted white bread, add your favorite condiments, and top with lettuce and tomato if using. Finish off with another slice of bread.
Serving
- Cut your cheeseburger in half and serve.
Notes
You can jazz up this burger with additional toppings like crispy bacon, jalapeños, or avocado. Freeze leftover patties for a quick meal; just thaw and reheat.
