Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (preferably 80/20 for the best flavor)
  • 4 slices cheese (American or your favorite melting cheese)
  • 4 slices white bread keeping it classic
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • Condiments of choice (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc.)
  • Lettuce and tomato optional, for added crunch

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently form them into patties.
  3. Season each side of the patties with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Place the patties in the preheated skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side.
  2. Flip the patties over and place the cheese slices on top. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
  3. While the cheese is melting, toast your slices of white bread until golden brown.
Assembly
  1. Once the cheese has melted, lower the heat and remove the patties from the skillet.
  2. Place each patty on a slice of toasted white bread, add your favorite condiments, and top with lettuce and tomato if using. Finish off with another slice of bread.
Serving
  1. Cut your cheeseburger in half and serve.

Notes

You can jazz up this burger with additional toppings like crispy bacon, jalapeños, or avocado. Freeze leftover patties for a quick meal; just thaw and reheat.
