Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out your puff pastry until slightly thinner.
- In a bowl, mix together the artichoke hearts, mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, chopped parsley, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Cut the puff pastry into squares or rectangles (around 4x4 inches) and spoon a generous amount of the artichoke mixture into the center of each square.
- Fold the pastry over the filling to create a pocket and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.
- Allow cooling for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Substitute artichokes with spinach or roasted red peppers for a variation. Add extra cheese for a cheesier effect and a pinch of crushed red pepper for heat.
