  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the cream cheese layer
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
For the cherry topping
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
  • Fresh cherries (optional, for garnish)

Method

Make the crust
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until it resembles wet sand.
  3. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of an ungreased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes and then let it cool completely.
  5. Your kitchen will smell heavenly!
Prepare the cream cheese layer
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and mix until completely blended.
  3. Gently fold in the whipped topping until it’s light and airy.
  4. Spread this creamy goodness over your cooled crust.
Add the cherry topping
  1. Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  2. If you’re feeling fancy, toss on a few fresh cherries for a pop of color.
Chill and serve
  1. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
  2. When it’s time to serve, cut into squares and enjoy the deliciousness!

Notes

You can substitute the graham crackers with crushed Oreos for a fun twist. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days, ensuring it's covered to avoid absorbing odors. Pair with vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent experience!
