Method
Make the crust
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until it resembles wet sand.
- Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of an ungreased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes and then let it cool completely.
- Your kitchen will smell heavenly!
Prepare the cream cheese layer
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and mix until completely blended.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until it’s light and airy.
- Spread this creamy goodness over your cooled crust.
Add the cherry topping
- Spoon the cherry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- If you’re feeling fancy, toss on a few fresh cherries for a pop of color.
Chill and serve
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
- When it’s time to serve, cut into squares and enjoy the deliciousness!
Notes
You can substitute the graham crackers with crushed Oreos for a fun twist. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days, ensuring it's covered to avoid absorbing odors. Pair with vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent experience!
