Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the cherry pie filling evenly on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cherry pie filling.
  5. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter all over the top.
  7. If desired, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving.
