Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the egg noodles and cook according to the package instructions until they're al dente (about 7-9 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once melted, toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Mix in the cooked chicken and stir it for a minute or two until the chicken is coated in the butter and garlic.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth and allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Slowly add in 1 cup of heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally for about 3 minutes.
  6. Toss in the peas and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Fold in the cooked noodles and mix everything until well combined and coated in the sauce.
  8. Plate your Chicken Buttered Noodles, and if you're feeling fancy, sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a smoother sauce, let it cook longer. You can also add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for added nutrition. Let kids help, making cooking a fun family activity!
