Ingredients

For the Quiche
  • 1 piece pre-made pie crust or make your own if you are feeling adventurous
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded leftover rotisserie chicken works well
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced button or cremini work beautifully
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix for gooey goodness
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder a dash of flavor
  • fresh herbs (optional) like thyme or parsley for fancy touch

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie pan and press it against the sides gently.
  3. In a frying pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Toss in the sliced mushrooms and sauté until tender and golden, about 5 minutes.
Assembly
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Layer the shredded chicken evenly over the pie crust, followed by the sautéed mushrooms.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the top and sprinkle the shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is set and lightly golden.
  2. Let the quiche cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Try adding spinach or bell peppers for vegetable variations. Experiment with different cheese options like feta or goat cheese.
