Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup butter, softened Unsalted is preferred
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Light or dark brown
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Semi-sweet or dark chocolate

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. For chewier cookies, bake a few minutes less.
