Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark; your choice)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and then add the eggs, one at a time, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture into the butter mixture and stir until blended.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each scoop.
  2. Bake for about 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Let them sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes can enhance flavors. Experiment with different types of chocolate chips for variations.
