Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed Make sure it's warm but not hot.
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
Add-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to adjust the amount based on preference.
  • Optional Additional melted butter for brushing on top

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Dust countertop with flour and knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and knead in the chocolate chips. Divide into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each bun. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake buns for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Optional: Brush with melted butter after removing from oven.
  3. Let cool slightly, then serve.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Warm them up for the best taste. You can substitute whole milk with unsweetened almond or soy milk. Add nuts for a delightful twist.
