Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your favorite loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later on.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well between each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Mixing
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined, then fold in the chopped apples and walnuts (if using).
Baking
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
You can customize the apple varieties for different flavors. Mix in additional spices for a unique touch. Store leftovers wrapped tightly at room temperature for a couple of days or in the fridge for a week.
