Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking pan (9x13 works great).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water into the mixture.
Baking
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Check if it's done by inserting a toothpick; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
You can layer the cake or frost it with various options like chocolate ganache or buttercream. If substituting whole milk, use unsweetened non-dairy alternatives.
