Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until blended.
- Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water until combined.
Baking
- Pour the batter into two prepared round cake pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
You can frost it simply with powdered sugar or go for chocolate ganache or cream cheese frosting. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or freeze for up to three months.
