Ingredients

For the dish
  • 4-6 pieces Sausages (pork or chicken)
  • 2 pounds Potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup Peas (frozen or fresh)
  • 4 tablespoons Butter For creamy mash
  • ½ cup Milk For creamy mash
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Olive oil For cooking the sausages

Method

Cooking Sausages
  1. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook them, turning occasionally, until they're browned and cooked through—about 12-15 minutes.
  2. Season with salt and pepper while cooking.
Boiling Potatoes
  1. While the sausages are cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the chopped potatoes and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.
Mashing Potatoes
  1. Once the potatoes are ready, drain them and return them to the pot. Add butter and milk, then mash until creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cooking Peas
  1. In the last few minutes, add the peas to the pot of boiling water and cook for about 2-3 minutes until bright and vibrant.
Serving
  1. Serve your fluffy mash with sausages on top and peas on the side. Drizzle some sausage juices over the mash for extra flavor.

Notes

For smoother mash, use plenty of butter. Different sausage flavors can elevate the dish. Leftovers can be reheated or fried with an egg for breakfast.
