Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Stir to mix.
- Gradually add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough starts to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shaping
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about ½-inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips according to your desired size.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the strips on it.
- Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with garlic salt, and add shredded mozzarella on top if desired.
Baking
- Allow the breadsticks to rise for an additional 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Once out of the oven, brush with more melted butter and enjoy!
Notes
For more cheese, feel free to load up on mozzarella or sprinkle some parmesan on top. If your breadsticks don’t rise properly, give them more warm time.
