Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped shrimp, lump crab meat, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, mayonnaise, green onions, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix well until completely combined.
- Slice the French bread horizontally in half and scoop out some of the soft bread from the inside to create room for the filling.
Cooking
- Spread the shrimp and crab mixture generously into the hollowed-out bread halves.
- Mix the melted butter with the minced garlic and brush this mixture over the top of the stuffed bread.
- Wrap the stuffed bread halves in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Unwrap and then bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then cut into pieces and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Make the filling in advance and refrigerate before stuffing the bread. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free bread. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days, but may lose some crispiness.
