Baking Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter-sugar combination, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped cranberries and orange zest.
- Shape the dough into balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Slightly flatten each ball with a fork.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cookies are just lightly golden.
- Allow them to cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Chill the dough for about 30 minutes for better flavor and texture. Feel free to experiment with different mix-ins like dark or white chocolate. A sprinkle of powdered sugar enhances presentation.
