Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 round round wheel of Brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
  • 1 sheet sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup cup of cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought) Use store-bought if you're short on time.
  • 1/3 cup cup of pecans, chopped
  • 1 egg egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon tablespoon of brown sugar (optional) Add for a touch of sweetness.
  • a pinch pinch of salt Enhances the overall flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the sheet of puff pastry to fit your Brie cheese.
  3. In a bowl, combine the cranberry sauce, chopped pecans, and brown sugar (if using). Mix well.
  4. Place the Brie in the center of the puff pastry. Spoon the cranberry-pecan mixture on top.
  5. Fold the edges of the puff pastry up and over the Brie, pinching it closed at the top.
  6. Whisk the egg and gently brush it over the puff pastry.
Baking
  1. Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  2. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make ahead: Assemble a few hours in advance but wait to brush on the egg wash until ready to bake. Leftover cranberry sauce can be used creatively in smoothies or on toast.
