Ingredients

Pasta ingredients
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta (or your choice of pasta)
Shrimp and seasoning
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
Cooking essentials
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
Sauce ingredients
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once it’s bubbling, toss in your fettuccine.
  2. Cook according to the package instructions, usually 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Shrimp
  1. In a bowl, combine shrimp and Cajun seasoning, mixing well to coat.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, cooking for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
Making the Sauce
  1. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.
  3. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese while stirring until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combining The Dish
  1. Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing until coated.
  2. Stir in the sautéed shrimp to combine.
Serving
  1. Plate the Creamy Cajun Shrimp Alfredo Pasta and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Don’t overcook the shrimp; they should be tender, not rubbery. Also, consider swapping in whole wheat pasta or adding veggies for a healthier version.
