Preparation
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Toss in the finely chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they’re soft and fragrant.
Cooking
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, seafood stock, paprika, and thyme, then bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Let it cuddle together for about 10 minutes to let those flavors marry.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Gently fold in the crab meat and shrimp. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, until shrimp is pink and opaque.
- Taste your bisque and add salt and pepper to your liking.
Serving
- Ladle your creamy bisque into bowls, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve.
Notes
If you can get fresh crab, that's best, but canned works fine. Adjust cooking times if substituting seafood. For silky bisque, use an immersion blender before adding seafood.
