  • 8 oz mushrooms Button or cremini, sliced
  • 4 strips bacon Cooked until crispy
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Grated
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Fresh parsley If desired

Method
 

Cooking the Bacon
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel to drain and chop into small pieces.
Sautéing the Mushrooms
  1. In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms. Cook for 5-6 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
Adding Garlic
  1. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Making the Creamy Mixture
  1. Pour in the heavy cream, allowing it to bubble gently before adding the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until smooth, adding a splash of milk or broth if too thick.
Combining Everything
  1. Add the reserved bacon bits and stir well. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Serving
  1. Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve.

Notes

For vegetarian versions, substitute bacon with sautéed shallots or roasted nuts. You can use various mushroom types for different flavors. For extra spice, add red pepper flakes.
